The Plan: Slovakia

Shortly after getting married, we are going to travel to Slovakia to teach and mentor young children in English. Lizzie found the opportunity while doing a video project for the owners of Slovak Folk Crafts where she shared that she had a continued interest in the idea of teaching English abroad, especially in Eastern Europe. The lady she was working with nonchalantly asked, “Well, do you want to teach English at a Lutheran school in Slovakia?” ...and that is how the opportunity came about.

Our Folk Craft contact sent an email on our behalf that yielded several responses and one final outcome. We have prayed about where God might lead us in our lives. After careful consideration we made the decision to commit to this wonderful opportunity. On August 17th we will begin our first day of work at ZS Narnia B. Bystrica, an elementary school in central Slovakia. We have made a one year commitment but have no firm plans as to when we might return to the United States.
